| The Longwood Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Jonathan McPhee will will present a concert that honors those working in Community Health Centers throughout Massachusetts. The Longwood Symphony Orchestra's musicians are also medical professionals devoted to Healing the Community Through Music. The day will begin with a symposium on the role of Community Health Centers, hosted by Tufts Medical School. The evening concert will feature works by Tchaikovsky, Roussel and Paganini with solo violinist Augustin Hadelich. The collaborative concert will raise funds and awareness for the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers and the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship. |

- Columbus, Ohio, USA ~ Earth Day 2007: A Year in a Day: In the morning, worksites will be set up around Columbus allowing participants to take part in a variety of good works -volunteers could spend their time picking up trash by our scenic rivers, planting trees or participating in any number of other community beautification projects. The goal is to encourage 500 volunteers to work for four hours each, equaling the time one person spends working in an entire year; hence the name of the event ‘A Year in a Day.’ The afternoon will be filled with food, drink, educational opportunities and fun, all at Goodale Park. After working up an appetite in the morning, volunteers will be greeted at Goodale with a lunch provided by local restaurants. The celebration at the park will feature prominent politicians and environmentalists and live music from popular local bands. Great Lakes beer will be on tap, and food will be available from local and organic vendors. In addition, there will be hands-on demonstrations, environmental education activities, informational booths for local environmental organizations and businesses and a drive-in for hybrid owners to show off their energy-efficient wheels. The entire afternoon event will be zero waste to the landfill. All materials at the event will be compostable or recyclable, and will be separated and managed appropriately.

After songs by three schools, a speaker will give a talk. Songs will later be used for advocacy on malaria prevention.
